Living in Canada is great, but it comes with its own unique challenges through the winter months! Where we live in Manitoba, we often get a mix of extreme cold as well as abundant snow, so when we were selecting a snowblower for our large country property, we had various aspects to consider.
We knew we wanted a 3 stage snowblower with diverse starting options, and a long chute to prevent snow blowback, and the Troybilt Vortex 3010 XP hits all the marks.
Since I am married to a pilot, my husband is away a lot for work, and without fail, it always snows when he is out of town. What is really great about this snowblower, is that it has Touch N’ Turn™ trigger-controlled power steering and heated grips so that I can maneuver it easily even in deep, wet snow. Despite it being a large, powerful machine, I can easily operate it. It also has 6 speed options so you can select what is best for you!
Additionally, since it has two starting options, I always know that it will start without fail even in the deepest cold. You can choose from the electric push button start; perfect for those cold Manitoba winter days, or you can do the traditional pull cord.
In my experience, it has started on the first pull every time! I love that I have two options to rely on in case I can’t get one figured out.
Another fun feature is the headlight! Although I typically wouldn’t be snow blowing in the dark (I’d rather be cozied up inside lol), with the short days, and long nights, it’s nice to have the option to use the light to see where you are going clearly.
This snowblower is clearly designed with harsh Canadian winters in mind. It feels rugged, powerful, and reliable which I appreciate. It is a machine that I know won’t let me down when I really need it. We have been using it all winter, and we continually talk about how it hits every mark for our large rural property. We hope to continue using it for all our snow clearing for many years to come!
